The Local Health Unit of Almada and Seixal (ULSAS) stated on Tuesday that it has not yet received any official notification from the Inspectorate-General of Health Activities (IGAS) regarding the suspension of the voluntary pregnancy termination consultation.
The Almada hospital therefore guarantees that it is unaware of any formal procedure on the part of the inspecting entity regarding this issue.
IGAS is the body responsible for the supervision and inspection of health activities in Portugal, being tasked with overseeing compliance with the applicable standards and regulations for health units.
ULSAS's position comes after news about the suspension of the voluntary pregnancy termination consultation, which reportedly generated some controversy and led to intervention from the supervisory authority.
