The Lisbon Municipal Assembly today approved a motion presented by the Left Bloc demanding answers from the Lisbon City Council regarding the Glória elevator tragedy. The Glória elevator is a historic elevator in Lisbon that suffered an accident.
The motion was approved with votes against from PSD, CDS-PP and IL. The Chega party, which had intended to vote against the motion, ultimately failed to do so due to a moment of distraction during the voting, which ended up benefiting the approval of the motion.
The text of the motion aims to pressure the City Council to provide clarification on the circumstances of the accident and the responsibilities involved. The approval at the AML demonstrates the position of the majority of parties in the municipal assembly regarding this issue.
