Quaest RJ: Paes leads with 39%; Ruas has 18% and Garotinho, 8%

Former mayor Eduardo Paes (PSD) leads the race for the government of Rio de Janeiro with 39% of voting intentions, according to a new Quaest poll released this Tuesday (08) and commissioned by Grupo Globo. Right behind appears state deputy Douglas Ruas (PL) with 18%, followed by former governor Anthony Garotinho (Republicanos) with 8%.

In comparison with the previous survey, released on August 25, Paes grew two percentage points, going from 37% to 39%. Douglas Ruas advanced four points, from 14% to 18%, while Garotinho went up one point, from 7% to 8%.

The survey also recorded voting intentions for other candidates, such as William Siri (PSOL) with 3%, Colonel Busnello (Missão) with 1%, Cyro Garcia (PSTU) with 1%, and Juliete (UP) with 1%. The percentages of undecided and blank/null votes were not filled in the article.

The survey was conducted between September 4 and 7 and heard people aged 16 or older, with a margin of error of two percentage points. The article was being updated at the time of publication.
