The Second Chamber of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) formed a majority to confirm the removal of Andrei Rodrigues from the command of the Federal Police, determined by Minister André Mendonça. Ministers Luiz Fux and Nunes Marques cast their votes early and followed the rapporteur, bringing the score to 3-0. The judgment was suspended after Gilmar Mendes requested a view on Tuesday (8), giving more time to analyze the case. The majority is already mathematically formed in the Second Chamber, which is composed of five ministers.
Mendonça ordered the preventive removal of Andrei Rodrigues and the Director of Police Intelligence, Leandro Almada. The minister also ordered the opening of internal investigations into the production of PF intelligence reports that, according to him, were prepared illegally and targeted authorities, including the magistrate himself.
