This Tuesday, in Faro, the trial of two PSP agents from Olhão began. They are accused of causing the death of a Moroccan citizen. The two police officers face charges related to the man's death, which occurred after he was transported in a police vehicle.
The victim and a friend of his were taken handcuffed in the police vehicle, after causing trouble at a supermarket. Despite being transported in this manner, they were never formally arrested by the authorities.
Shortly after being left, both were found unconscious by the roadside. The Moroccan citizen ended up dying, giving rise to the judicial process now underway.
The two defendants deny all the accusations and claim they only gave the two men a ride, with no involvement in the death. The trial is taking place at the Judicial Court of Faro.
