Bill that expands psychological support to police officers and firefighters throughout the state returns to Alerj committees

extra8 September 2026 at 19:59

Bill 893/2023, which expands psychological support to Security agents for all 92 municipalities of Rio de Janeiro, returned to the committees of the Legislative Assembly of the State (Alerj) this Tuesday (the 8th), after receiving two amendments. The proposal extends psychological support to civil and military police officers, firefighters, security inspectors, prison police officers and servers of the General Department of Socioeducational Actions (Degase).

The project is being analyzed by six committees of Alerj: Constitution and Justice, Health, Public Servers, Public Security and Police Affairs, Civil Defense, and Budget. The text was analyzed in second reading.

The proposal modifies Law 8,386/2019, which established the program of support, evaluation and follow-up for civil and military servers who are victims of work-related trauma, including those who participated in armed confrontation resulting from police intervention, regardless of whether they were injured. The action also includes the family members of these professionals.
