JPP argued during the solemn session of Municipality Day in Ponta do Sol that the development of the municipality must be modern, but without forgetting its roots and identity. Maria José Gonçalves, a member of the party, was the main speaker at this municipal celebration.
The JPP representative warned that progress cannot be made at the expense of the municipality's identity, nor can it relegate to the background the simpler problems that affect daily life in the population. She argued that before any work or modernization project, it is necessary to take into account the basic needs of citizens.
Maria José Gonçalves emphasized that a municipality is made by the people, especially highlighting those who maintain traditions, tend to the lands, and preserve local culture. This intervention takes place in the context of the annual celebration of Municipality Day in Ponta do Sol, in which the JPP party is responsible for local government management.
