Around a hundred companies in the Leiria region that were affected by storms were left without recovery support, despite having submitted eligible applications. The problem is related to the fact that the available funds were exhausted before all companies could be covered.
The affected companies belong to the most diverse sectors of activity, demonstrating that the impact of the storms was cross-cutting across the local economy. Most of the companies without support are located in the municipalities of Leiria and Marinha Grande, two of the main industrial areas in the region.
This situation leaves the affected companies without financial resources to rebuild infrastructure, replace equipment, or resume normal operations after the storm damage. The lack of support could compromise the viability of many of these local businesses.
