Douglas Ruas, the PL candidate for governor of Rio de Janeiro, was interviewed on Tuesday by GLOBO, Extra, Valor and CBN. During the interview, the candidate sought to link his image to the Bolsonaro family and directed a series of criticisms at former mayor Eduardo Paes (PSD), who leads the electoral polls in the state.
In different moments of the interview, Ruas associated his adversary with corruption investigations, with errors in public policies in the areas of transportation and education, and even with former governor Cláudio Castro (PL), who currently supports Ruas's own candidacy. The PL candidate also praised Supreme Court (STF) minister André Mendonça, who is involved in an internal dispute at the Court with minister Alexandre de Moraes.
Ruas also referred to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in a derogatory manner, using the expression "cara de pau". The series of interviews with candidates for governor of Rio continues on Wednesday with William Siri (PSOL), followed by Anthony Garotinho (Republicanos) on Thursday and Eduardo Paes (PSD) on Friday.
