The Chega bench rose in the Plenary Hall and repeatedly shouted "resignation" after the rejection of their motion of censure against the Government, against the maintenance of Luís Neves as Minister of Home Affairs. The 60 deputies of the party beat their hands on the benches during the protest demonstration.
In response, the parliamentary groups of PSD and CDS-PP also rose to applaud the Government standing, in a gesture of support for the executive. On the left benches, several deputies began to leave the room.
The motion of censure targeted the continuation of Luís Neves in the position of Minister of Home Affairs, but was rejected by the majority of deputies present in the Plenary. The episode marks another moment of tension between Chega and the remaining parties represented in the Assembly of the Republic.
