The leader of Chega, André Ventura, lamented the rejection of the motion of censure against the Government presented by his party. In his speech, Ventura considered that the party did its part by calling for the resignation of Luís Neves, Minister of Internal Administration, and that it "defended the institutions."
When asked whether Luís Neves emerges strengthened from the defeat of the motion of censure, André Ventura responded that the minister "only comes out strengthened if the standard of ethics in this country is dead," adding that he finds that very negative.
The president of Chega also expressed his conviction that the majority of Portuguese people agree with the party's position and were on the side of this political battle fought by the group of parliamentarians.
