Scammers use 'Minha Casa, Minha Vida' and 'Desenrola Brasil', which has already ended, as bait for victims

The Brazilian Banking Association (ABBC) issued an alert to the population about criminals who have been using popular social programs and their digitalization to commit scams. The "Tem Cara de Golpe" campaign exposes false promises of speed in processes, miraculous discounts, and immediate release of funds in the names of official agencies, all through fake communications.

In the case of the "Minha Casa, Minha Vida" program, which expands access to housing financing, scams involve promises of "jumping the queue" or supposedly guaranteed financing approval through advance payment of fees via Pix or fake bank slips.

Similar practices are used against the "Desenrola Brasil" program, which has already ended, demonstrating that scammers continue to exploit the names of deactivated programs to deceive victims.

The study mentioned in the article also reveals that Brazil recorded an attempted identity fraud every 5.5 seconds in the first half of the year, highlighting the growing sophistication and frequency of these crimes.
