The directors of the Federal Police offered their positions to acting director-general William Murad, after the removal of director-general Andrei Rodrigues and the director of police intelligence, Leandro Almada. The measure was ordered by Justice André Mendonça of the Federal Supreme Court.
In a public statement released on Tuesday (08), members of the PF directorate expressed total support for Rodrigues and Almada. According to the document, both have a professional trajectory dedicated to the institution, with technical, impartial and responsible performance.
The directors stated that narratives influenced by political and electoral interests are not capable of erasing the history and reputation of the corporation's members.
The group also declared that the statement aims to defend the Federal Police from attacks and attempts to usurp functions, as well as to preserve the institution's capacity to act in defense of the public interest and the Democratic Rule of Law.
