The Chega party accused the Minister of Internal Administration, Luís Neves, of "arrogance" after he traveled to Madeira. The visit of the official to the autonomous region was described by the party as an attempt to "humiliate the PSP".
Francisco Gomes, a member of Chega, went further in the criticisms and accused the MAI of invoking "the victim's game" in front of the Portuguese. The party official also confronted the minister about the intention to "fight Chega".
The visit to Madeira reportedly involved issues related to the Public Security Police, which was the subject of debate during the minister's trip to the autonomous region.
