JPP comments on motion of censure: "There is an obligation to seek the truth and clarify matters for the Portuguese"

Funchal Notícias8 September 2026 at 18:17

The deputy from Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP), Filipe Sousa, intervened this Tuesday in the Assembly of the Republic to comment on the motion of censure presented by Chega, which ended up being rejected in Parliament. During his speech, the parliamentarian defended that there are doubts and facts that need to be clarified within the scope of this political issue.

Filipe Sousa emphasized that given the situation in question, there is an obligation to seek the truth and to clarify matters for the Portuguese about what happened, instead of allowing opacity to persist. This position reflects JPP's concern with transparency and the need for accountability to citizens.

Chega's motion of censure was presented and discussed in Parliament, having been rejected by the deputies. JPP, through its representative, chose to focus on the need for clarification of the facts, regardless of the position on the motion itself.
