The Second Chamber of the Supreme Federal Court formed a majority of votes to maintain the removal of the Federal Police director-general, Andrei Rodrigues, from his position. Minister Edson Fachin was the first to vote for maintaining the measure, following the rapporteur of the case.
In addition to Andrei Rodrigues, the Federal Police Intelligence Director, delegate Leandro Almada da Costa, also remains preventively removed. Both were removed from their functions within the scope of an internal court procedure.
The Chamber's decision refers to a case involving administrative and operational matters within the Federal Police. The preventive removal aims to ensure the regularity of ongoing investigations, according to the ministers' understanding.
With the formation of a majority, the decision to maintain the removals was endorsed by the members of the Second Chamber of the STF, who considered the measure previously determined by the court to be appropriate.
