The school of les Amplàries in Orpesa opens the course with more than 145 students

The school of les Amplàries in Orpesa opened the school year this Wednesday with more than 145 enrolled students. It is the third Infant and Primary Education center in the municipality of Orpesa, which began its activity with a provisional building.

The students will find the classrooms prepared for the start of school activities. However, some adaptation work on the exterior space continues to be carried out after the start of classes.

This new educational establishment comes to reinforce the educational offer in the town of Orpesa, responding to the growing demand in the area. The start of the course took place without incidents, with the students beginning their activities at the new school center.

Chanttal Mendez, a young Luso-Venezuelan born and raised in Caracas until the age of 10, moved with her family to Aveiro, Portugal, motivated by her maternal grandmother's Portuguese roots. In an interview with Agência Incomparáveis, she shares memories of her happy childhood in Venezuela, the process of adapting to Portugal, and the construction of a dual identity that she never felt was contradictory. Currently studying International Relations at Universidade Lusíada do Porto, Chanttal combines the preservation of Venezuelan customs in her daily life – such as food, music, and language – with Portuguese habits, describing it as a "very beautiful mixture" between both cultures. Her journey in beauty pageants includes titles such as Miss Teen Aveiro 2023 and, more recently, Miss Aura Portugal, which she intends to use as a platform for social projects and one day to represent Portugal in an international competition.
