The president of the European Parliament condemned today the "public glorification" of former Serbian-Bosnian commander Ratko Mladic. The president considered that such glorification undermines reconciliation efforts in the Western Balkans. Furthermore, she classified the attitude as "an affront" to all those who were victims of the crimes committed by Mladic. Ratko Mladic was a military commander during the war in Bosnia and was convicted of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
