The Guimarães-based club Xico Andebol will promote next weekend the V Rui Silva Tournament, a competition dedicated to the youth categories Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18. The event features the participation of Xico Andebol itself, CCRF, Águas Santas and Gaia, bringing together some of the main handball youth academies in the region. Over the two days, 12 matches will be played, providing the teams with an important competitive moment before the official start of the competitions.
On Saturday, September 12th, the initial phase games will take place, with Xico Andebol competing in all three categories against Gaia. On Sunday, September 13th, the classification matches will determine the final order of each category, including games for third and fourth place and the respective finals.
The tournament takes place at the Pavilhão Desportivo Francisco de Holanda, in Guimarães, and entry is free for all interested parties. This competition follows the V José Carlos Correia Tournament, dedicated to the senior categories, which the club organized the previous weekend.
The organization thus reinforces Xico Andebol's commitment to youth development and the training of young athletes, in a pre-season start marked by the balance and competitiveness demonstrated by the senior players in the previous tournament.
