Guimarães will celebrate European Mobility Week with free public transport between September 18 and 21. During these four days, the services of operators Guimabus and AveMobilidade may be used free of charge, a measure that aims to encourage the use of collective transport and contribute to reducing emissions in the city center.
The program includes diverse activities targeted at the school community between September 16 and 22, with proposals such as the Mobility Train, entertainment actions on buses, Parking Day, theater for primary school students, the Ascendi simulator and Gui's Bus, aimed at different education levels.
The highlight of the celebration takes place on the weekend of September 19 and 20, with Largo do Toural and Rua de Santo António transforming into a space dedicated to sustainable mobility, from 11:00 to 20:00. The event will include interactive activities, workshops, exhibitions, experiences and cultural moments about accessibility and inclusion, active mobility, local commerce, history of transport, energy and innovation. During this weekend there will be road closures between 10:00 and 20:00, on September 19, 20 and 21.
European Mobility Week also extends to the Guimarães Multiusos, which hosts on September 19 and 20 the National Electric Vehicles Meeting, dedicated to electric mobility and future technologies.
