A collaboration protocol was signed between the Estarreja Municipal Council and the Rádio Voz da Ria Cooperative, with the objective of strengthening communication capacity with the population in emergency or catastrophe situations. The municipality approved financial support of 9 thousand euros for the installation of UPS systems at the radio station, which guarantee approximately 10 hours of continuous broadcasting in case of electrical power failure.
This measure is particularly important within the scope of Estarreja's Emergency and Civil Protection Plan, which identifies Rádio Voz da Ria as one of the communication media with the population in emergency situations. The radio station, based in the municipality of Estarreja, thus plays a strategic role in disseminating alerts and guidance to the populations.
The new equipment will provide greater energy autonomy to the station, allowing it to ensure continuity of broadcasts even during prolonged interruptions in electricity supply. In this way, the radio will be able to continue disseminating information, warnings and guidance to the population during emergencies.
