Montenegro criticizes those "chained to the tank" of elections, motions, resignations and insinuations

dnoticias.pt8 September 2026 at 16:09

Prime Minister Luís Montenegro criticized Chega today, accusing the party of being "chained to a tank" of elections, motions, resignations and insinuations. This accusation came at the opening of the debate on the motion of censure presented by Chega against the Government.

Chega's motion of censure is centered on the question of maintaining the Minister of Internal Administration in Montenegro's Executive. The far-right party is demanding the resignation of this Government member.

In response, Montenegro countered that the Government is focused on finding solutions to the country's problems. In this context, he announced the re-edition of support for specific sectors in fuels, demonstrating what he considers to be the priorities of his governance.

The Prime Minister sought to highlight the successes of his governance during the debate, even resorting to a wordplay related to the controversies involving the Minister of Internal Administration.
