The Territorial Command of Castelo Branco, through the Nature and Environment Protection Service (SEPNA) of Covilhã, returned to nature a specimen of Black Kite (Milvus migrans) in the municipality of Covilhã, in Serra da Estrela.
The bird had been previously collected in a weakened state, having been treated and rehabilitated by the Center for Studies and Recovery of Wild Birds (CERAS).
This action took place within the scope of SEPNA's mission to protect nature and the environment, which involves the collection, rehabilitation and subsequent release of endangered wild animals.
