FlixBus accuses Rede Expressos of creating successive obstacles that have prevented the fulfillment of a judicial sentence that determines the immediate access of the company to the Sete Rios terminal, in Lisbon. The German transporter proceeded with an executive action of the sentence and a criminal complaint against the Portuguese competitor.
Rede Expressos reacted classifying the accusations as "false and defamatory" and guaranteeing that it gave access to the Sete Rios terminal already in May, thus refuting FlixBus's allegations about the impossibility of operating at the location.
The Sete Rios terminal is considered one of the most important transport terminals of the Portuguese capital, which makes this dispute particularly relevant for the road passenger transport sector in Portugal.
The situation reflects a broader conflict between the two companies in the Portuguese transport market, with FlixBus seeking to expand its presence in Portugal and Rede Expressos defending its dominant position in the sector.
