The executive director of the Federal Police, William Murad, spoke on Tuesday in support of the Director-General of the PF, Andrei Rodrigues, removed from his position by decision of Minister André Mendonça of the Federal Supreme Court (STF). Andrei learned of the decision when he was already at an event for PF agents, at the Police Academy in Brasília, and gave up speaking. Murad, who assumes command with the departure of the current chief, spoke in his place.
Murad stated that police officers will not be shaken by attacks, from wherever they come, and reiterated total confidence in the Director-General and Director Andrei Rodrigues. He declared that the moment requires serenity and that the institution will know how to get through this situation, as it has done in the past.
The delegate noted that police officers have the duty to protect the institution against attacks and attempts to usurp functions. Murad also highlighted that respect for the attributions of each institution within the criminal justice system guarantees the legality and integrity of the PF's operations.
