Luís Montenegro, leader of the Democratic Alliance (AD) in Portugal, directed criticism at political adversaries by stating that many are focused exclusively on electoral processes, resignations, commissions, insinuations, and slogans. The declaration was made during a political moment in which Montenegro contrasted the posture of his competitors with the approach of his own political formation.
In his speech, Montenegro stated that while other parties are occupied with these political matters, the AD is dedicated to finding concrete solutions for people's lives. The Christian-democratic leader emphasized that his party is oriented toward those who "want and deserve a better life", suggesting a more practical and results-oriented approach for citizens.
