The Instituto Nacional de Emergência Médica (INEM) maintains the strike that was scheduled for September 14 and 28, after the union expressed "deep disappointment" with the counter-proposal presented by the Government.
The union of INEM professionals considered the government counter-proposal insufficient, which led to the decision not to back down from the already announced mobilization.
The strike affects emergency medical services in Portugal, which may cause significant impacts on pre-hospital care during the days of the stoppage.
The negotiations between the union and the Ministry of Health apparently proceeded without agreement, with the standoff between the parties continuing.
