Brazil is recognized as an agricultural powerhouse, and the extensive territory presents challenges that are being transformed into opportunities for rural producers. The REVERTE® program, developed by Syngenta, has been betting on technologies to help farmers recover degraded areas and transform them into productive land for planting different crops.
In five years of operation, the project has already boosted 99 producers from 400 farms occupying approximately 283 thousand hectares distributed across 11 Brazilian states. The program offers long-term credit so that farmers can invest in recovering their land.
According to Nêmora Reche, director of corporate communication at Syngenta, Brazil has many degraded areas with potential for agricultural growth. In the Cerrado alone, there are approximately 18 million hectares with agricultural aptitude that can be explored through proper recovery.
The information about REVERTE® was presented during the "Journalism of the Future" course, held at the headquarters of Editora Globo, in Rio de Janeiro, where Nêmora Reche detailed the advances and objectives of the program for recovering degraded areas in Brazil.
