The municipality of Pinhel is hosting, until November, the "Heritage Festival – Fado and Portuguese Guitar", a cultural initiative that travels through the 18 parishes of the municipality. The festival brings traditional Portuguese music to different communities spread across the territory.
The main objective of the initiative is to bring Fado and the Portuguese Guitar to the populations of the various parishes, promoting the dissemination and preservation of these two cultural elements of great importance to Portuguese identity.
Simultaneously, the festival aims to enhance local built heritage, using the historical and architectural spaces of each parish as stages for performances. This combination of music and heritage seeks to create distinctive cultural experiences for participants.
The tour through the 18 parishes allows reaching communities that normally do not have frequent access to cultural events of this nature, contributing to the democratization of culture in the country's interior.
