More expensive fuels increasingly pressure small businesses in the interior

SIC Notícias8 September 2026 at 14:29

Fuel prices are increasingly affecting small businesses that depend on transportation to carry out their activities. This situation has been worsening progressively, creating significant difficulties for these entrepreneurs.

In the country's interior, the effects are even more pronounced due to the greater distances that need to be covered. Small businesses feel the weight of fuel costs more intensely than those in urban areas.

The affected businesses point out that they are becoming less competitive in the market. The situation compromises their ability to maintain affordable prices and compete with businesses located in areas with better access and lower transportation costs.
