New tariffs between the US and Canada now in effect

New tariffs between the United States and Canada have come into effect. The rates vary between 15% and 50% and apply to over 700 American products exported to Canada.

These measures represent a new escalation in the trade war between Ottawa and Washington. The total value of affected trade is estimated at 20 billion dollars.

Vehicle sales up 18.4% for the year, but exports fall 22.9%
