The Public Prosecutor's Office accused two foreigners of aiding illegal immigration in Portugal. The two defendants are suspected of having obtained a profit of 324 thousand euros with the criminal activity.

The irregular entries reportedly occurred between October 2021 and January 2022. The location indicated in the accusation is the city of Elvas, in the Portalegre district, in the border zone with Spain.

The Public Prosecutor's Office statement does not specify the defendants' nationalities nor does it provide further details about the illegal immigration scheme they allegedly practiced. The case now follows the usual judicial procedures for this type of crime.

Artur Galinha, former businessman and parachutist from Almeirim, has died
