Minister André Mendonça ordered the removal of the director-general of the Federal Police, Andrei Rodrigues, in a decision made this Monday. In the decision, Mendonça reproduced statements made by delegate Edvandir Paiva, president of the Association of Federal Police Delegates (ADPF).
The statements referred to intelligence reports that had been released by Minister Alexandre de Moraes the previous week. These reports were produced within the scope of the fake news inquiry.
Edvandir Paiva, as president of the ADPF, made public comments about these intelligence reports, and these statements were incorporated by Mendonça as grounds for his decision to remove Andrei Rodrigues from the position of director-general of the PF.
