Dazn renewed the broadcasting rights for the Formula 1 World Championship in Portugal and Spain for three more seasons, ensuring the continuity of the competition on the platform until the end of 2030. The renewal was confirmed by the sports platform in a statement.
With the return of Formula 1 to Portugal, Dazn will bring together four major motor sports events in the country: Formula 1, MotoGP, and the WorldSBK rounds at Portimão and Estoril. From 2027, the platform will also combine Formula 1 and MotoGP, after recently acquiring the exclusive rights to the motorcycle competition.
Dazn's managing director, João Diogo Ferreira, said that renewing Formula 1 until 2030 is a clear demonstration of the platform's ambition in motor sports in Portugal. Dazn Iberia CEO, Óscar Vilda, considered Formula 1 as one of the pillars of the platform's sports offering.
Dazn will continue to broadcast all grand prix, including practice sessions, qualifying, and races, with specialized commentary in Portuguese. The platform also features Formula 2, Formula 3, F1 Academy, and Porsche Supercup, in addition to the exclusive rights to the Superbike World Championship in Portugal until 2031.
