James Rodríguez is negotiating with Avellino, an Italian Serie B club, and the conversations are at an advanced stage. According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, the parties are close to reaching an agreement, with only financial details remaining for the signing to be completed. The 35-year-old Colombian midfielder has been a free agent since leaving Montreal Impact in MLS.
One of those responsible for the approach between James and Avellino is Alessandro Nesta, world champion with Italy in 2006 and current manager of the club. The former defender spoke directly with the Colombian about the Italian team's project.
