Mondim de Basto debates child development and parenting in a lecture series

Mondim de Basto hosts on October 1st a special edition of the lecture series "Pequenos Grandes Laços", dedicated to child development, parenting, education and well-being of children and youth.

The initiative takes place at Favo das Artes – Casa da Cultura and features the participation of specialists from different fields, providing a space for reflection and sharing of knowledge about the challenges related to childhood and youth.

This session is part of the Mondim + Saber project, under the PIPSE. Participation is free, but is subject to prior registration.

Artur Galinha, former businessman and parachutist from Almeirim, has died

Artur Correia da Silva, known as Artur Galinha, has died in Almeirim at the age of 89. He was a former Major Sergeant Parachutist of the Portuguese Army and a local businessman, owner of the grocery store and restaurant O Galinha. Throughout his life, he maintained an active participation in civic and political life, having been a candidate for the presidency of the Parish Council of Almeirim for the coalition Amar a Terra in 2013 and, more recently, joined the list of the coalition Agora as Pessoas in the 2025 local elections. He left behind a legacy linked to commercial activity, restaurant business, military life, and civic participation in the municipality.
