Flamengo is among the nominees for the world's best club award at the Ballon d'Or 2026. The Brazilian Rubro-Negro competes for the honor alongside European giants such as Bayern Munich, Arsenal and PSG, as well as the season's surprise package Bodo/Glimt. The award ceremony is scheduled for October 26 in London.
The Rio club won the 2025 Libertadores by defeating Palmeiras 1-0 in the final held in Lima, Peru, with a goal by Danilo. In addition to the continental title, Flamengo also won last year's Brasileirão, securing their nomination for the award.
The award, created in 2021, recognizes sporting performance, management and global impact of clubs throughout the season. The evaluation period runs from August 1, 2025 to July 31, 2026, covering national leagues and continental competitions.
In the current season, Flamengo is in the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores and will face Independiente del Valle.
