The GDP of the euro zone was revised upward, from 0.4% to 0.6%, between April and June, compared to the previous three months. This growth surpassed the US quarterly advance, which stood at 0.4% in the same comparison, putting the European bloc ahead of the United States. The data was released by Eurostat.
The European advantage, however, is narrow and lasts only one quarter. Almost all the difference in growth comes from an Irish leap that has little to do with the real economy, raising doubts about the sustainability of this performance.
In the year-on-year comparison, it is the United States that leads economic growth.
