Vasco faces Santa Fe today, at 7 PM, in Bogotá, for the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Copa Sul-Americana. The cruz-maltino travels without important pieces of the squad: Andrés Gómez, Adson and Cuesta were rested, Thiago Mendes is suspended and Colidio is not registered in the competition. The team will be led by Pedro Emanuel.
Despite the absences, Vasco has an asset in the competition: the mixed lineups have been working in the tournament. The team has 60% efficiency so far, with ten games played, five wins, three draws and two losses. The group stage served as a testing space for squad rotation during Renato Gaúcho's tenure.
To advance in the competition, Vasco will have to overcome not only Santa Fe on their territory, but also the thin air of Bogotá, a city located more than 2.6 thousand meters above sea level. The second leg is scheduled for next week.
