Prison for a detainee in Benidorm for raping and strangling his partner while filming it

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General8 September 2026 at 07:07

A judge in Benidorm ordered pretrial detention without bail for a man arrested for sexual assault against his partner, despite having a restraining order against him. The victim filed a detailed report describing the assaults as especially violent, including the use of the mataleón technique to strangle the woman as well as biting. The aggressor filmed everything on video during the attacks.

The Prosecutor's Office requested incarceration considering it was the only measure capable of guaranteeing the victim's safety, given the repeated violations of the restraining order and the severity of the reported facts.

The defendant, defended by lawyer Francisco González, exercised his right not to make a statement, after briefly denying the facts his partner was accusing him of.
