The Directorate-General for Food and Veterinary Affairs (DGAV) clarified that the restrictions on imports of animal origin products from Brazil will not affect plant-based products that, for example, contain small amounts of egg, such as pastries. On September 3, the ban on imports of Brazilian animal origin products came into force in the European Union, including beef, poultry, tripe, eggs and honey. This measure does not affect imports of food products of predominantly plant composition, provided that the animal origin content is limited and does not constitute the main element of the product.
