After several weeks of total paralysis, the citrus campaign in Castellón finally began to move. In the field, the first buying and selling operations for oranges and tangerines began to close, although it took longer than usual for the season to begin.
The positive side is that trade is gradually positioning itself for the new season. However, there is a warning sign for the region's farmers: there are fewer varieties quoted than a year ago at these same dates, and prices are lower.
Castellón's farmers thus face an unfavorable start to the campaign in terms of valuing their products, which raises concerns about the profitability of production this year.
