Ceramic manufacturing companies in Castellón face months of uncertainty due to rising energy costs and new difficulties in selling to certain countries directly affected by the war in the Middle East. One of the main concerns is the sharp decline in sales in the main destination for Tile of Spain exports, which is the United States.
During the first half of the year, Spanish tile sales fell 19% in the North American market. This decline is due to the impact of customs tariffs imposed by the Trump Administration and the rebound effect after the significant increase recorded in the previous year.
However, sales to the European Union improved in the first half of the year, which represents positive data for the ceramic sector in Castellón, which seeks to balance the loss of the American market with a greater focus on the European market.
