Colombia's Ministry of Defense announced the results of the security operations carried out during the first month of President Abelardo de la Espriella's administration. The report represents a significant effort by the new government to combat armed groups in the country.
According to the announcement, 14,914 people were arrested during this period. This high number of detentions indicates an energetic stance by the new administration against criminality.
Additionally, security forces managed to kill or detain at least 23 leaders of armed groups. This action against the leadership of criminal organizations aims to weaken their operational structures.
The data was presented as part of the one-month government report, demonstrating the security priorities of the new presidency of Abelardo de la Espriella.
