The demonstration called by presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro (PL) on Paulista Avenue this Monday, on Independence Day holiday, gathered 28.5 thousand people according to calculation by the USP/Cebrap Political Debate Monitor and the organization More in Common. The count was made from aerial photos analyzed with artificial intelligence software.
The audience was smaller than the previous year. In 2022, on the same date, 42.2 thousand people attended at Paulista and 42.7 thousand at Copacabana, where there was also an event. The survey's margin of error is 12%, indicating there were between 25.1 thousand and 32 thousand participants at 4:32 PM, the peak time of the event.
Flavio Bolsonaro spoke at the demonstration saying that "whoever votes for Lula is voting for Alexandre de Moraes." Governor Tarcisio de Freitas was also present and stated that "the latest revelations about Moraes need answers."
The article points out that right-wing demonstrations on Paulista Avenue have attracted fewer supporters since 2022, indicating a downward trend in attendance at this type of political event.
