'Minha melhor amiga', starring Ingrid Guimarães and Mônica Martelli, beats 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' and leads Brazil's box office

The Brazilian comedy "Minha melhor amiga", starring Ingrid Guimarães and Mônica Martelli, debuted in first place at the Brazilian box office, ending a six-week period of leadership by "Spider-Man: No Way Home". The film, directed by Susana Garcia, arrived in theaters last Thursday (3) and quickly won over the national audience.

According to numbers from Filme B, the production sold 475,000 tickets and achieved gross revenue of R$ 11.7 million. The film was shown in 1,531 screens across 436 cities throughout Brazil.

With these numbers, "Minha melhor amiga" became the biggest opening for national cinema since "O auto da Compadecida 2", which debuted in December 2024 with 894,200 viewers. Additionally, the film surpassed the previous record of "Minha mãe é uma peça 3", a comedy starring Paulo Gustavo, becoming the biggest release in the history of national audiovisual.
