The High Representative of European Union diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, cancelled the presentation of a Defense working group that was scheduled for today and which featured the participation of former Portuguese minister João Gomes Cravinho.
The decision to cancel the working group came after several Member States considered the initiative inopportune, expressing opposition to its creation.
João Gomes Cravinho, former Minister of Defense and Foreign Affairs of Portugal, was to join this European working group dedicated to Defense issues.
This episode comes at a time when Kallas has been facing resistance from some EU countries regarding initiatives in the field of Defense and European foreign policy.
