BPI is preparing to exit Mozambique, a move that comes after the sale of BFA (Banco Fonsecas & de Africa). This decision marks a significant change in the Portuguese bank's strategy on the African continent.
African stakes are not considered strategic for BPI, which justifies the intention to divest its assets in the region. The bank is thus reassessing its international presence.
BPI holds a 33.67% stake in BCI (Banco Comercial e de Investimentos), which is expected to be divested as part of this withdrawal from the Mozambican market.
