PL presidential candidate for President of the Republic, Bolsonaro, held a campaign event on Monday (7) on Paulista Avenue in São Paulo on the September 7 holiday. During the event, the senator held President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva responsible for what he called the "moral chaos" experienced in Brazil, stating that the suffering and anguish that motivated supporters to take to the streets were the fault of the current president.
Bolsonaro also said he will not allow Lula to appoint new ministers to the Supreme Court. The PL candidate defended the removal of Justice Alexandre de Moraes from the Supreme Court and declared that whoever votes for Lula is voting for Alexandre de Moraes, directly associating the PT candidate with the Supreme Court justice.
The attack on Moraes was made in the context of the revelation of messages exchanged between the justice and former banker Daniel Vorcaro. According to what was cited by Bolsonaro at the event, the messages are part of a controversy involving the Supreme Court and would have further motivated the attacks on the justice during the demonstration.
The event on Paulista was convened by Bolsonaro himself as part of the September 7 holiday celebrations, bringing together supporters of President Jair Bolsonaro. The event occurs at a time of intense electoral dispute, with Bolsonaro trying to distance himself from unfavorable polls for the Bolsonaro family.
