Rock in Rio continues in its current edition with new stars and big names performing at Cidade do Rock. On Monday, the festival featured performances by artists like Laufey, Elton John and Gilberto Gil. Hitmakers like Roberto Menescal and Guilherme Arantes also took to the stages of the event.
Zé Ricardo, vice president of Rock World (the production company behind the festival) and curator of a large portion of the stages, admitted that the song and composition dictated the rule in the day's programming. The critics from the newspaper O Globo evaluated all the shows held up to that point, both those presented in person at Cidade do Rock and those followed by the editorial team through TV.
Vanessa da Mata performed on the Sunset stage during the fourth day of the festival. The singer showcased her biggest hits, protested against religious intolerance and gender violence in Brazil, and sang songs by Legião Urbana, among other performances.
